Another year of Trail Maintenance has gone by. The Volunteers completed work on Trails 800, 800A, 800B, 999, and 1516. These are in good to excellent shape except for the portion of 800 NE of the warming Hut which has sections that are partially brushed in. Brush work was done on this section of 800 but was not completed in 2023. This will be the main priority for 2024 to complete the brush clearing. Other work planned for 2024 is touch up on Trail 999 and other sections of 800.. Trail 3094 May also get some touch up work.

Thanks to the Volunteers Jeff Arhers, Dennis and Jeannie Falconer, Brent Lewis, Makenak Long, Larry May, Bryan Powers, Steve and Bev Powers, Keith Putnam, Rick Schrader, and Glenda and Joe Winters for Volunteering to perform Trail Maintenance, help review the new Forest Service Trail Maintenance Contract, and becoming Forest Service Chain Saw Certified.

NIATV Association and other Clubs need Volunteers to help keep the Trails open.

By the middle of Feb NIATV will be coming up with a lists of rides for summer of 2023. This will be rides that include trails thus 50” machines, and rides for all machines. If you have a route you would like to be on the list please email Dennis our club President, or myself, Larry, at lmay883@gmail.com. If you would like to be a ride leader, again let us know.

Remember being a ride leader you do not eat someone’s dust!

Also do not forget rides with campouts. On the campouts some arrive earlier in the week and spent more days riding.

Also, would anyone be interested in during the week rides? In the past they have been scheduled on Saturday.

The Idaho Senate held a late session in to the evening last night. The result was overwhelming success for two of our initiatives. H86, which simplifies the sticker and registration process through IDPR, passed 35-0. It has now passed both chambers without a single no vote. H129, which allows expanded use of OHVs on public roads (including numbered state highways), passed 32-2. It has now passed both chambers, receiving only 2 no votes (in the Senate; nobody opposed in the House). I fully expect Governor Little will sign both bills inasmuch as they received such tremendous Legislative support. Thank you to each of you for the support you provided to ISATVA and IRC as we moved these bills forward on your behalf.
Best wishes,
David P. Claiborne, President
IDAHO STATE ATV ASSOCIATION, INC.
